Patchwork triangles (2010)

Duration: ca. 11′
Instrumentation: flute, percussion, bass
Score

Patchwork triangles was composed in collaboration with flutist Rachel Beetz, percussionist Leah Bowden, and bassist Adam Goodwin, during my first year at UCSD. The piece is constructed from several sections of material that are composed to follow certain triangular shapes, then split into shorter sections and scrambled. Each triangle is also restricted to a certain set of the ensemble – complete trio, one of three duos, and one of three solos.
