Thank you for participating in our congregation-wide virtual choir for Silent Night and helping make this year’s Christmas music special. All the resources you need should be below, and please don’t hesitate to ask if you have any questions.
Step 1 – Record
While listening to the cue track, record video of yourself singing all four verses. You can record using your computer or your phone/device, whatever you are comfortable with.
If you need help – or would like to record via Zoom – let me know and I’ll do my best to assist. Note that if you’re recording with a phone, you will need to have the audio playback on a different device, while if you record at a computer, playback and recording can occur simultaneously.
Step 2 – Submit
On whatever device you record the video, go to www.wetransfer.com – you will not need to register for an account.
Click or tap the plus (+) to upload your file. On a phone or other mobile device, there may be a “Send A File” button first before you see the plus.
Find your file to attach it. On a phone or mobile device, it will likely be in your photo library or camera roll. On your computer, it will be wherever your video recording software saves the files, or you can search for the file name. If you don’t know the filename, or can’t find the video, let me know, and I’ll research what your software does by default
Once the file has been selected, type my email address (firstname.lastname@example.org) when prompted. You will also need to type your email address, and you have the option to add a message as well. Then click Transfer!
WeTransfer may ask you to confirm your email – if so, they’ll send you an email with a confirmation link to ensure that you are who you say you are.
Note: uploading frequently takes longer than downloading, so it may take a little while for the file to complete upload. Make sure your device has internet access until the upload is complete.
If you have any questions, please let me know!
